Eggs - simple way to get natural protein
These little beauties are loaded with vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, eye-protecting antioxidants and brain nutrients that most people don’t tend to get enough of. Protein is critical when bouncing back from a workout, and eggs are a perfect source of it. In fact the quality of egg protein is the highest of any whole food product. They contain, with varying amounts, 13 essential vitamins and minerals. Eggs are one of the only foods that naturally contain Vitamin D, which is critical for bone health and immune function. Although we often think of protein’s function in building and maintaining muscle and rightly so... newer research suggests other benefits of protein. Numerous studies since 2010 have found that protein-rich breakfasts, including those containing eggs, result in blunted postprandial glucose and insulin responses, greater satiety, and lower energy intake at a subsequent meal, suggesting a positive role of eggs for hunger and weight management. Great post exercise recovery and a perfect start to the day Brilliant efforts from the Spring 2016 beginner running groups. With 22 new runners over the two groups, the difficult ground conditions in week 1 were big fun!! We managed and it's drying up nicely - lots of muddy legs and running spirit all round and a great team of new runners.
Had a great Saturday at the CEF organised 'Give it a Go' event - with lots of people interested in different sports and exercise activities available in the local area.
