We live in a culture where often there is an unrealistic idea that being healthy is no fun - it's too hard and involves hours of soul destroying exercise combined with gagging on limp salad leaves and regurgitating bits of cucumber
Exercising, once you find something that you love to do, feels pretty fantastic. For me, personally it is one of the highlights of each day. It's a personal time that allows me to put my earphones in and zone out. It keeps me fit and strong and I love that feeling but just as importantly, it keeps me balanced, feeling in control and it allows my two teenagers to continue living in my house. The exercise is always challenging but I wake up each day and I look forward to doing it. I enjoy eating real food that I know my body needs. It's a journey to get to that point for any of us but it's more than worth the effort and if you listen carefully, you might hear your future self encouraging you... Doesn't feel good?....try it before you make your mind up. If you're looking for a way to get your journey off the ground or back on track, next week, I'll be adding some tips to get you started or keep you going towards that goal of being as healthy as you can be, whilst having fun (yes you really can!!) and keeping it realistic..
