What is 'HiiT'?

HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training is a relatively new type of training that has been shown to improve fitness, burn fat and improve endurance. It can benefit elite athletes as well as us lesser mortals and has a major benefit that it is short in duration, usually lasting less than 30 minutes.

Why do both?

The combination of HIIT and Pad work is perfect for improving general fitness and burning fat. It is recommended that a general fitness programme combines high intensity with other less intense cardio training. This session does both together in a class based environment.

What is pad work?

Pad work is a fun way to improve all the main components of fitness including cardiovascular, muscular strength and endurance, motor skills and flexibility. Based on boxing training, it involves using boxing gloves and hitting pads held by a partner. 

How can I START?

I run a group based session at Kelfield Institute every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm, Tuesdays at 10am and also Thursday at 5pm and have limited places available. Please contact me for availability.  All you need is a towel and water, I'll bring the kit.
